This significant boost comes amidst intense investor interest in fintech companies with robust AI capabilities.

The Funding Round and Key Investors

The funding was led by iconic investors like ICONIQ, GIC, and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, alongside a host of new backers including Goldman Sachs Alternatives, D.E. Shaw & Co., Morgan Stanley Investment Management, Generation Investment Management, Insight Partners, and BroadLight Capital. Many existing investors also participated in this round.

Growth Metrics and Customer Base

Ramp boasts an annualized revenue of over $1 billion, marking a significant milestone for the company. It has also achieved positive free cash flow and expanded its customer base to over 70,000 clients, including major players like Visa, Uber, Shopify, Anduril, and Figma.

From Startups to Enterprises

Initially focused on startups, Ramp has now broadened its offerings to include payments, fraud detection, procurement, vendor management, and even accounting. The company is also leveraging AI across its suite of products, including the launch of an AI-driven corporate credit card.

The AI Revolution at Ramp

CEO Eric Glyman recently highlighted how Ramp is building tools to help businesses monitor their AI token usage across providers and enable AI agents to make payments on behalf of users. This initiative positions Ramp as a key player in controlling AI expenditures, an area that’s gaining increasing importance as companies seek ROI from AI investments.

Future Plans

Glyman stated that Ramp is looking to eventually go public but didn't provide a timeline. The company has raised over $3 billion since its inception and now competes with other highly valued fintech giants like Brex and Rippling, although the latter offers integrated HR, IT, and payroll tools.
