Amazon has added a fresh twist to its Prime Video app with the launch of ‘Clips,’ a TikTok-inspired short-form video feed. The feature, first available in the U.S., is designed to entice viewers with quick clips from their favorite shows and make it easy to add them to your watchlist or share with friends.
“Clips gives customers a whole new way to browse with short, personalized snippets tailored to their interests,” said Brian Griffin, Prime Video’s director of Global Application Experiences. “Whether you have a few minutes to scroll or are looking for something to watch later, entertainment is just a tap away.”
Amazon first tested this concept during the NBA season, showing highlights that users could easily scroll through, much like TikToks. The move aligns with trends seen from other streaming giants such as Netflix, Peacock, Tubi, and Disney, who have all recently integrated similar features to enhance user engagement.
The new ‘Clips’ feed will roll out initially on select U.S. customers using iOS, Android, or Fire tablets, but more widespread availability is expected this summer. To access Clips, users simply need to scroll down on the Clips carousel on the Prime Video mobile home page. This will display a full-screen vertical feed of enticing video clips from their favorite shows.
With Clips, Amazon aims to not only increase user engagement but also drive subscriptions by making it easier for viewers to discover and watch content that piques their interest. Whether you’re looking for a quick binge or just want to explore new titles, this innovative feature is sure to keep things interesting on Prime Video.
